With the machine on and all buttons lit, press and hold the power button and the espresso button for approximately 5 seconds until 2 beeps are heard, then press the espresso button to start. The process takes approximately 15 minutes, during which the machine pumps descaling solution through the system every 40 seconds — empty the container placed under the spout after each pump cycle. After descaling, an automatic rinsing phase follows using a full tank of fresh cold water.
