How should I prepare my washer for winter storage or moving?

To winterize your washer, shut off both water faucets, disconnect and drain the water inlet hoses, put 1 quart (1 L) of R.V.-type antifreeze in the basket, and run the washer on a drain and spin setting for about 30 seconds. Then unplug the power cord. When ready to use again, flush pipes, reconnect hoses, turn on faucets, reconnect power, and run a complete cycle with detergent to clean out the antifreeze.
