What is the correct way to fill the detergent dispenser?

Open the dispenser cover by pushing the cover latch, then fill the Main Wash section with detergent according to your water hardness. For soft to medium hard water (0-6 grains per gallon) with normal soil, fill to the top of the 2nd step (2 tablespoons or 30g), and fill the Pre-Wash section the same amount if needed. For heavily soiled loads or medium to hard water (7-12 grains per gallon), fill the Main Wash section to the top of the 3rd step (3 tablespoons or 45g). (Page 12)
