What is the ideal water temperature for dishwasher operation?

For best dishwashing results, water should enter the dishwasher at 120°F (49°C). To check your water temperature, run hot water at the faucet closest to your dishwasher for at least 1 minute, place a candy or meat thermometer in a glass measuring cup, and check the temperature as the water runs into the cup. If your water heater is far from the dishwasher, run the hot water at the nearest faucet to minimize cold water in the line. (Page 13)
