What happens if I turn off the cooling system using the controls?

Pressing and holding the On/Off button for three seconds (Electronic controls) or turning the Freezer and Fresh Food controls to "0" (Mechanical controls) will disable the refrigerator's cooling system, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb and other electrical components. To turn off power completely, you must unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. (Page 4)
