Why did my BCD704C1 shut off suddenly during use?

The tool shuts off abruptly either because the battery has reached its maximum thermal limit or the battery charge is depleted. To maximize battery life, the unit is designed to shut off abruptly when the charge is exhausted. Allow the battery to cool and then place it in the charger.
