How does the LED light on the PP360 work?

The LED light (2) activates automatically when the trigger is depressed, illuminating even when the trigger is only partially pressed before the unit begins running. The LED will also illuminate when the unit is in the locked-off position, with the forward/reverse button in the neutral (no run) position. (Page 2)
