What should I do if battery liquid leaks and contacts my skin or eyes?

If battery liquid contacts your skin, wash quickly with soap and water and neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the liquid gets in your eyes, flush with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek immediate medical attention — the liquid is a 25–35% solution of potassium hydroxide. (Page 2)
