How do I properly set and release the parking brake?

To set the parking brake, fully depress the parking brake pedal, move the parking brake lever all the way down into the ON (PARK BRAKE ON) position, then release the brake pedal to allow the parking brake to engage. To release it, depress the brake pedal and the parking brake lever will automatically move out of the parking brake position. The parking brake pedal must be depressed to start the engine. (Page 16)
