What is the difference between the Dome mode and Diffuse mode on the Wave+Curl diffuser?

In Dome mode, airflow is drawn into the dome to help enhance and smooth natural waves or curls. In Diffuse mode, the detachable prongs disperse airflow to the roots for textured, voluminous curls and coils. You can switch between the two modes by lifting the prong bed from the center of the Wave+Curl diffuser. (Page 9)
