Why are my glasses coming out cloudy or etched after washing?

Cloudiness or etching on glassware is caused by a combination of soft water and too much detergent, and unfortunately this damage is permanent. To prevent it from happening, use less detergent if you have soft water and wash glassware in the shortest cycle that will get them clean. You should also ensure the water heater temperature does not exceed 150°F. (Page 14)
