How should I load sharp knives and flatware in the dishwasher safely?

Load sharp knives with the handles up to reduce the risk of cut-type injuries. Place spoons in the basket with handles down, and mix knives, forks, and spoons so they don't nest together. Small plastic items such as measuring spoons should go in the bottom of the silverware basket with silverware placed on top. (Pages 7, 15)
