Can I add essential oils directly to the water tank?

No, you must never add essential oils or other additives directly to the water tank or water reservoir. Essential oils must only be used with the included oil pads in the oil tray located on the back of the humidifier base. Putting oil anywhere but the oil tray will damage the humidifier.
