Can I install the thermostat near other electrical wiring?

No. Keep 24VAC or communications wiring at least six feet away from large inductive loads such as power distribution panels, lighting ballasts, and motors. Never place wiring near bare power wires, lightning rods, antennas, transformers, or steam/hot water pipes, and never place wire in conduits containing power or lighting circuits. Improper placement can introduce electrical interference and cause erratic system operation (Page 4).
