How far should the thermostat wiring be kept from other electrical components?

All wiring and controllers must be kept at least six feet from large inductive loads such as power distribution panels, lighting ballasts, and motors. Additionally, 24VAC or communications wiring should never be placed near bare power wires, lightning rods, antennas, transformers, or steam or hot water pipes. (Page 4)
