Why does the Air Quality Indicator pulse between green, yellow, and red when I first turn on the unit?

Upon startup, the unit may take a few minutes to calibrate and measure the air quality, during which time the Air Quality Indicator will pulse between green, yellow, and red. Once the appropriate air quality reading is determined, the indicator will remain a solid color. This is normal behavior and not a malfunction. (Page 6)
