Why is the Check Print Cartridge light blinking on my HP Deskjet F4200?

The Check Print Cartridge light blinks when the print cartridge door is open, the print cartridges are missing or not seated correctly, the tape was not removed from the print cartridge, the cartridge is not intended for use in this device, or the cartridge might be defective.
