What should I do if the HP printer software installation fails?
Remove the CD from the drive and disconnect the printer from the computer, then restart the computer. Temporarily disable any software firewall and close any anti-virus software before re-inserting the software CD and following the on-screen instructions. Do not connect the USB cable until prompted, and restart both the computer and any security software after installation completes. (Page 3)
