How do I inspect the CVVT assembly for problems?

Remove the CVVT assembly and check that it is locked. Apply masking tape to oil path holes except the advance hole indicated by the arrow. Apply low air pressure of approximately 150 kPa (1.5 kg/cm², 21 psi) to the exposed camshaft port while turning the CVVT in the advance direction. Verify it moves freely in both advance and delay directions within a range of about 20° and locks properly in the maximum delay angle position.
