How do I clean the float, and why is it important?

Pull the float up firmly to lift it out and clean the float and surrounding areas with a household cleanser containing vinegar or bleach to dissolve any buildup. Keeping the float clean prevents it from sticking, which could stop a water fill or allow the dishwasher to overflow. To replace it, push it down until it locks into place and confirm it moves up and down freely about one inch. (Page 10)
