How do I load dishes properly in the dishwasher?

Load dishes facing the center of the rack so water spray from the rotating spray arm and center wash tower can reach soiled surfaces. Be sure large items do not block the detergent dispenser. For the top rack, place glasses and cups against outside pins at an angle, small plates between middle rows of pins, and plasticware in the top rack to avoid melting. For the bottom rack, place large plates between support pins with soiled sides facing inward, and load pots and pans upside down at an angle without handles protruding through the bottom.
