What items should I not wash in the dishwasher?

Do not wash copper or anodized aluminum, hand painted silver or gold leaf china, wood or bone handled utensils, iron or non-rustproof utensils, plastic items not marked dishwasher safe, sterling silver or gold-plated flatware, delicate or metal-rimmed china, or fragile items such as crystal glasses. Also do not place pots or pans with plastic handles in the appliance as the handles may deteriorate due to heat and detergent. (Page 30)
