How do I clean the lint screen and how often should I do it?

You should clean the lint screen before every load by pulling it straight up and rolling the lint off with your fingers — do not rinse or wash the screen, as wet lint is hard to remove. Additionally, clean the lint screen with a nylon brush every 6 months to remove detergent and fabric softener residue buildup that can cause longer drying times. Never run the dryer with the lint screen loose, damaged, blocked, or missing, as this can cause overheating and damage. (Page 13)
