How do I prepare my washer for winter storage or extended non-use?

To winterize the washer, shut off both water faucets and disconnect and drain the water inlet hoses, then put 1 qt. (1 L) of R.V.-type antifreeze in the basket and run the RINSE/DRAIN AND SPIN cycle for about 1 minute to mix the antifreeze with remaining water. Then unplug the washer or disconnect power.
