What does the 'Sud' error code mean and how do I fix it?

The 'Sud' error code means there are excessive suds in the washer, and the washer is automatically running a suds reduction routine. Allow the washer to continue, and make sure you are using only HE detergent with the correct measured amount based on load size. You can also press WATER HARDNESS to change the setting to 'soft.' If the code appears again after pressing POWER/CANCEL to clear and restart, call for service. (Page 17)
