What should I do if the washer won't drain or spin and clothes are still wet?

Check that the drain hose is not kinked, pinched, or blocked, and that it doesn't extend into the standpipe more than 4.5 inches. Make sure the drain hose end is not higher than 96 inches above the floor. Verify you are using only HE detergent, as suds from regular detergent can slow or stop draining. If the load is out of balance, avoid washing single items and balance them with extra items.
