How often should I clean the lint screen and how do I do it?

You should clean the lint screen before every load. Pull the lint screen straight up, roll lint off with your fingers, and push it firmly back into place — do not rinse or wash it, as wet lint is hard to remove. Additionally, clean the lint screen with a nylon brush every 6 months to remove detergent and fabric softener residue buildup. (Page 13)
