Why is there sparking or arcing inside my microwave?
Sparking or arcing is caused by metallic utensils, cookware, or metal twist-ties inside the oven. Remove any metallic items, and if using aluminum foil, use only narrow strips and allow at least one inch between the foil and the interior oven walls. (Page 19)
