How do I install the 9V battery and what warnings should I follow?

Locate the 1x9V battery and install it into the battery compartment on the back of the lock face in proper orientation—the touchpad will beep when successfully installed. The battery must be inserted with correct polarity, exhausted batteries must be removed and discarded safely, and you should not mix old and new batteries, alkaline with standard batteries, or use rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries.
