What is the factory preset code to unlock the safe for the first time?
The factory preset code is 1-5-9-#. Tap the keypad to wake up the lock face, then enter this code to unlock the safe in DEFAULT MODE. You should not use this code while securing items in your safe — you must set a new personal security code immediately. (Page 7)

How do I set up a new security code on my Sanctuary Safe?
Locate the reset button inside the safe door by removing the small cap, then press and release it — you will hear 2 beeps and the yellow LED will illuminate, indicating programming mode. While the yellow light is on, enter your new 3 to 8-digit code followed by [*], and the lock face will beep twice to confirm successful programming. What happens if I enter the wrong security code multiple times?
After 3 consecutive incorrect code entries, the safe enters 'Basic Lockout' mode and the touchpad is deactivated for 30 seconds. After 6 consecutive failed attempts, the safe enters 'Severe Lockout' mode and the touchpad is deactivated for 5 minutes. You must leave the batteries in during the lockout cycle — if batteries are removed, the timer resets to zero. (Pages 8–9)

How will I know if the tamper protection has been triggered on my safe?
After the safe enters basic or severe lockout mode, the tamper indicator will signal immediately after the next successful code entry. The yellow lock LED will flash 3 times accompanied by a 3-second long beep, warning you that someone has unsuccessfully attempted to access your safe. (Page 9)

What does it mean when both the red and green LEDs light up after entering my code?

6 Locate the 1x9V battery. Install into the battery compartment on the back of the lock face in the proper orientation. The touch pad will beep when batteries are successfully installed.
WARNING: The batteries must be inserted with the correct polarity. Exhausted batteries must be removed from the product and discarded safely. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline or standard (carbon – zinc) batteries. Do not use recharge- able (nickel – cadmium) batteries.

4. Lock Face Security Code Setup
Important: It is necessary to reprogram your safe with a new security code you have personally selected to provide maximum household security. Be careful in choosing your new security code, you’ll want to be sure that you can operate the unit quickly without making an error.New 3-8 Digit Security Code

5. Locked Out Of Your Safe
In the event you have forgotten the security code your primary action will be to use your backup keys in order to gain access to your safe and follow the Lock Face Security Code Setup instructions. If you have lost your backup keys, you will need to contact customer service at the number below. Proof of purchase is required to obtain keys. Note: Do not shut the safe door until you have confirmed your new security code at least 3 times, ensure your code has been saved and you can open the door successfully. If the code fails, the yellow (left) light will flash and beep. Repeat the steps above until successful. WARNING: If the incorrect security code is entered 3 times you will have an automatic lockout for 30 seconds before you can enter your code again. If 3 additional failed attempts are made, the lock face will lockout for 5 minutes. Leave batteries in to go through lockout cycle. When the safe door is opened, internal lighting activates for 30 seconds. If you need to activate your light longer, you can press the green light activation button on the inner door panel. This will activate the internal lighting for an additional 30 seconds each time it is pressed. Red & Green = Low Battery This safe is equipped to alert you of Low Battery Mode. This Low Battery Warning is initiated immediately after a successful code entry. The touch pad will illuminate both the red low battery LED and green unlock LED for 3 seconds. SA Consumer Products recommends that you store your safe in a closet, office, basement, bedroom or any other location that is convenient for you but out of direct line of sight from prying eyes.

11. Keeping Your Safe Dry
We recommend placing a moisture/protective barrier between your safe and concrete floor to prevent any moisture, mildew and rust damage to the safe. Installing your safe in a place with climate control (heat in the winter and cooling in the summer) is highly recommended. In areas of high humidity or frequent temperature fluctuations (garages) it is recommend to take appropriate precautions to ward against moisture damage. We strongly encourage the use of an internal dehumidifier and/or desiccants to protect your contents from rust or mildew. Store documents or heat sensitive items in the bottom of the safe for greatest protection against fire damage. Store ammunition separately from valuables. Do not put anything in your safe that will put pressure against the door when it is closed. As a good safety precaution store heavier items either on the floor of the safe, or away from the middle of the shelves. NOTE: Before you apply the rubber bumper to the shelf clip, make sure the surface is clean and dry. Tear off the self-adhesive backing. Do not touch the adhesive side, then apply it to the surface of the shelf clip. Once in place, press down on the rubber bumper for 5 seconds so that it sticks tightly.15. Hinges And Internal Mechanisms
The hinges and internal locking mechanism are permanently lubricated, thus needing no maintenance. Opening the door panel of your safe may void your warranty. Always consult our customer service experts prior to doing so. Page 14

SA Consumer Products, Inc. will repair or replace, at their sole discretion, any Sanctuary Safe damaged by fire, forced entry, forced attack or natural flood for the lifetime of the original owner. SA Consumer Products, Inc. will repair or replace, at their sole discretion, any Sanctuary Safe with defective parts, paint or lock for the lifetime or the original owner. If SA Consumer Products, Inc. deems a replacement safe is to be sent, they will pay the freight costs to ship the replacement safe to the original owner. This lifetime warranty is limited to the safe and expressly excludes any loss associated with the contents of the safe. SA Consumer Products, Inc. reserves the right to receive full evidence of your misfortune, such as a police report and/or homeowners statement of coverage. This warranty is not valid outside of the United States, Mexico and Canada. Proof of registration and copy of sales receipt must be on file at the time of claim. Cuando se abre la puerta de la caja fuerte, la iluminación interior se activa durante 30 segundos. Si necesita activar la iluminación durante más tiempo, puede pulsar el botón verde de activación de la iluminación situado en el panel interior de la puerta. Esto activará la iluminación interna durante 30 segundos adicionales cada vez que se pulse. Rojo y verde = Batería baja Esta caja fuerte está equipada para alertarle de Batería Baja. Recomendamos colocar una barrera protectora contra la humedad entre la caja fuerte y el suelo de hormigón para evitar que la humedad, el moho y el óxido dañen la caja fuerte. Es muy recomendable instalar la caja fuerte en un lugar con control climático (calefacción en invierno y refrigeración en verano). En zonas de alta humedad o frecuentes fluctuaciones de temperatura (garajes) se recomienda tomar las precauciones adecuadas para evitar daños por humedad. Recomendamos encarecidamente el uso de un deshumidificador interno y/o desecantes para proteger su contenido de la oxidación o el moho. Los deshumidificadores internos no deben estar en contacto directo con las paredes laterales o traseras. Al activar el modo de entrada silenciosa, la caja fuerte dejará de emitir sonidos audibles. Toque la almohadilla táctil para «despertar» y activar la cara de bloqueo. Para activar el modo de entrada silenciosa, mantenga pulsado el (*) durante 3 segundos y el LED amarillo parpadeará 2 veces indicando que la caja fuerte está ahora en modo de entrada silenciosa. Para volver a activar el sonido, mantenga pulsado (*) durante 3 segundos y el LED amarillo parpadeará 2 veces y emitirá un pitido indicando que ya no está en modo de entrada silenciosa. Page 24
