What is the foreign object cup and how do I maintain it?

The foreign object cup is located in the front and below the lower rack and protects the pump from large objects entering it. If the cup fills up with particles or objects, depress the tab in the center and pull up on the cup to remove it, dispose of the contents, and then replace the cup by pushing it down to lock in place.
