What should I do if the F9E1 (drain) error code appears on the display?

The F9E1, 'drn,' or 'dr' error code indicates the washer is taking too long to drain, often because the drain hose extends more than 4.5 inches (114 mm) into the standpipe or the hose end is higher than 96 inches (2.4 m) above the floor. Check the drain hose installation, remove any clogs, and ensure it is securely attached to the drainpipe or tub without tape over the drain opening.
