How should I prepare my washer before going on vacation?

Before a vacation or extended non-use period, unplug the washer or disconnect power, turn off the water supply to the washer to help avoid unintended flooding from water pressure surges, and slightly open the door to provide ventilation. If storing or moving during freezing weather, winterize the washer by putting 1 quart of R.V.-type antifreeze in the drum and running a Drain/Spin cycle. (Page 18)
