What should I do to prepare the washer if I'm going on vacation or storing it in freezing weather?

If leaving the washer unused for an extended period, unplug it, turn off the water supply, and leave the door slightly open for ventilation. To winterize in freezing conditions, pour 1 quart (1 L) of R.V.-type antifreeze into the drum, run a Drain/Spin cycle, unplug the washer, shut off both water faucets, and disconnect and drain the inlet hoses.
