How do I prevent odors from building up in my front-load washer?

Always leave the washer door slightly ajar between uses to help dry out the washer and prevent the buildup of odor-causing residue, since this washer has a tight seal to avoid water leaks. Additionally, run the Clean Washer cycle with affresh monthly, unload the washer as soon as the cycle is complete, and use the Fan Dry option if the load cannot be removed immediately. Using warm or hot water washes sometimes (not exclusively cold water) also helps control the rate at which soils and detergent accumulate. (Pages 15, 25)
