How do I insert a drill bit into the keyless chuck on the BCD704C1?

Hold the rear half of the chuck (3) with one hand and use the other hand to rotate the front half counter-clockwise as viewed from the chuck end to open it. Insert the bit fully, then firmly tighten by holding the rear half and rotating the front portion clockwise as viewed from the chuck end.
