How much detergent should I use for different water conditions?

For soft water with light soil, use 1-1.75 tablespoons (15-25 ml). For medium water with medium soil, use 1.75 tablespoons (25 ml). For hard water with heavy soil, use 3 tablespoons (45 ml). If water hardness is unknown, start with 15 ml and increase if necessary.
