How do I set the water hardness level for the first time?

When first turned on, the machine will show 'HARD' on the LCD display asking for the water hardness level. Press the SELECT dial once, dip the water hardness test strip into the filled water tank for 1 second, wait 1 minute for the result, rotate the SELECT dial and press to select the level according to the number of red dots shown on the strip.
