Why did the LED display go dark while the machine is still running?

The LED display will dim after 10 seconds of use as a power-saving feature, and will also turn off after 10 seconds of inactivity when the sleep timer is on to avoid light interference at night. Press any button other than the Standby ON/OFF button to reactivate the display. (Page 8)
