Should I use the tether strap when the seat is installed rear-facing?
No — do not use the tether strap when the child restraint is installed in the rear-facing position. You must store the tether strap and attach the tether hook to the storage clip on the seat back when in rear-facing mode. This prevents a loose tether hook from striking someone during a crash.
