What should I do if my dishwasher won't drain?

If water won't pump out of the tub, check if the drain is clogged by cleaning the air gap if you have one, checking if your kitchen sink is draining well, or running the disposer clear if the dishwasher drains into a disposer. If the dishwasher isn't draining well, always check the air gap first.
