How do I connect an answering machine to the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428/M429 fax?

First, remove the plug from the telephone port on the printer. Then unplug the answering machine's telephone cord from the wall jack and connect it to the telephone port on the printer. Finally, connect the phone cord supplied with the printer to the fax port on the printer and to the wall telephone jack. (Page 9)
