What type of detergent should I use, and how much should I add?

You should use powder detergent only for this front loading washer, following the detergent manufacturer's instructions for quantity. For a full load, use the manufacturer's recommended amount; for a part load, use 3/4 of the normal amount; and for a minimum load, use 1/2 of the full load amount. Using too much detergent can cause excessive suds, decrease washing results, and place heavy load on the motor causing malfunction. (Page 12)
