Why won't the door open immediately after the wash cycle ends or when paused?

The door will not open for 1 to 2 minutes after pausing or at the end of the wash cycle, as the electric locking mechanism needs time to release. Once the Start/Pause button is pressed and the cycle starts, the door cannot be opened for safety reasons. If you need to pause the cycle, press the Start/Pause button and wait 1 to 2 minutes before the door can be opened. Note that if the washer is in pause mode, power will automatically turn off after 4 minutes. (Pages 16, 24)
