How do I deep clean the lint screen when detergent residue builds up?

Clean the lint screen with a nylon brush every 6 months or more frequently if residue builds up. Roll off loose lint, wet both sides with hot water, scrub with a nylon brush and liquid detergent, rinse with hot water, and then thoroughly dry the screen with a clean towel before reinstalling it. Do not use this washing method for routine every-load cleaning — only dry-remove lint normally. (Page 8)
