What does the FAULT error code mean on my 27894 timer?

A FAULT display indicates that a station had a short circuit, with the faulted station number shown on the top left of the display. Common causes include a defective solenoid, damaged or faulty wiring, or poor wire connections. To clear the fault, check and fix the wiring or solenoid, then turn the dial from AUTO to another position and back to AUTO, or run a manual watering cycle.
