How do I winterize my washer if I need to store it in freezing temperatures?

To winterize the washer, shut off both water faucets and disconnect and drain the water inlet hoses. Then put 1 quart (1 L) of R.V.-type antifreeze in the basket and run the washer on the RINSE & SPIN cycle for about 30 seconds to mix the antifreeze with any remaining water, then unplug the washer. When reinstalling after winter storage, run the washer through the Bulky/Sheets Deep Water Wash cycle using half the manufacturer's recommended amount of HE detergent to clean out the antifreeze.
