Why is my washer vibrating or 'walking' during the spin cycle?

Vibration or 'walking' is most commonly caused by the washer not being level or the feet not being in firm contact with the floor. Load imbalance is another common cause — load items in loose heaps evenly around the washplate, and avoid washing single heavy items without adding a few extra items to balance the load. If flooring is uneven, placing a 3/4-inch (19 mm) piece of plywood under the washer can help reduce vibration. (Page 15)
