How do I prepare my washer if I'm not using it for an extended period?

Unplug or disconnect power to the washer and turn off the water supply to avoid flooding due to water pressure surge. If storing during freezing weather, shut off both water faucets, disconnect and drain inlet hoses, put 1 quart of R.V.-type antifreeze in the basket, and run the Rinse & Spin cycle for about 30 seconds to mix the antifreeze with remaining water.
