How do I add detergent and laundry products correctly?

Add a measured amount of detergent or a single-dose laundry packet directly into the washer basket. If using Oxi-type boosters, color-safe bleach, or fabric softener crystals, add them to the bottom of the basket before adding clothes. Do not use more than 1 cup (250 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach, and never use color-safe bleach or Oxi products in the same cycle as liquid chlorine bleach. (Page 4)
